A Life Worth Following

Our Baseball Team – The Ambassadors

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf:  Be reconciled to God.”

II Corinthians 5:20

We have a dream of impacting Major League Baseball by launching an elite baseball team for eight weeks in the summer comprised of upcoming High School seniors or recent graduates.  This team will conduct baseball clinics in churches for kids around the country while they play in key tournaments around the country and internationally.  We have two goals with this team.

Goal #1:  We are going to walk with these boys for eight weeks, helping them develop as followers of Christ.  Every week, we will invest in their spiritual lives helping them to understand how God desires to use their gifts and abilities to serve Him and impact other people.  They will spend the summer, rubbing shoulders with incredible coaches, connecting with Justin Sullivan’s story and serving people around the United States and on a mission trip outside the U.S.  We plan to train these guys how to be responsible with their God-given talents before they sign Major League contracts or earn college scholarships.

Goal #2:  We have a goal of exposing these players to Major League Scouts and College coaches trying to help them move to the next level with their baseball carreer.

Our Coaches:

Lee Tunnell – He pitched in the World Series for the St. Louis Cardinals and has been a Major League coach and scout for many years.  As a young man, he learned the value of walking with God and he knows how to help baseball players maximize their God-given talents both on and off the field.

David Vallerand - Last summer David was the head coach of the Small West All-Star team for the State of Oklahoma.  He was the former coach of Washington High School and has an amazing passion for Jesus Christ.

Adrian Savedra – He launched the baseball program at Santa Fe South High School and is instrumental in bringing baseball back to the inner city.  He has a passion for the Lord and is one of the most effective baseball leaders in the Metro area.

Chase RotenChase is an incredible young man and a tremendous asset to our team.  He just finished playing one year at Cowley County and has signed to play at SNU.  He was named All Conference and All Region in the Jayhawk Conference.

Justin “Murph” Murphy - Murph has an incredible story and is an incredible asset to our team.  He is serving as a “Graduate Assistant” and is a wonderful utility player/coach for the Ambassadors.

If you are interested in playing or coaching, please call Lee Tunnell at 405-473-1884

If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation for this team, please call Chris Wall at 405-245-5790 or you can send an e-mail to chris@alifeworthfollowing.org.

My son is a Junior this year and in May will be considered a Senior and is 16 years old. I would love information on the ambassadors. Justin (our son) has played baseball since he was 4 years old and currently plays for Union City High School with both infield and outfield experience with an emphasis on his starting position as pitcher. He played competitive ball in little league going to the little league world series twice in St Louis and many other traveling tournaments. He is very active in his church “New Beginnings ” in Mustang and has taken the required classes to volunteer with the Youth. My cell phone number is 405-919-4479 and my email is ldaniels@fsamail.com. Please send me any information that you may have about the team as we feel it would be an honor to be a part of a team living the legacy of Justin Sullivan.

New Creation Church in Broken Arrow has is a small congregation with a twenty acre campus. We allow the NOHA home school baseball and football teams to use our facility and they have built a nice baseball field. If you would be interested in using our field for a clinic while playing in the Tulsa area we would be glad to host you. I am somewhat familiar with your agenda because of my friendship with Logan Brumley’s grandfather and father and it is my understanding that you will conduct evangelistic clinics in the towns where you play in tournaments.

    When are the tryouts?

Our son’s team, Elk City Travelers, played the Amassadors this past Sunday. It was a great game to attended.
What an inspiration your team is. You handed out the journal to our team after spending time in prayer. It is my prayer that my son will take this journal and use it.
On our 2 hour drive home I read through parts of the journal. What an amazing young man Justin was. He never knew how God would use him.
The Ambassadors have already touched many lives and I pray that as you set out for your mission trips many others will come to know our Loving Savior.
May God Bless you and your team and use you to grow His kingdom.

THIS IS AN AMAZING EFFORT! JUST READING ABOUT YOUR MISSION IS A BLESSING. I THINK THIS IS A WONDERFUL WAY TO WITNESS AND SET AN EXAMPLE SHOWING ATHLETES WHERE ALL PRAISE AND GLORY IS DUE.
